Those new campaign finance laws that allow corporations to get more involved in political campaign advertising are getting an early test. According to ABC News, Target Corp. is getting blasted by gay rights advocates after news emerged that the company had donated $150,000 to a Minnesota-based political group called MN Forward that is backing gubernatorial candidate Republican Tom Emmer.

Gay rights groups are angry because Emmer has frequently opposed gay rights and same-sex marriage and has voiced support for a Christian rock band whose members have praised the execution of gays in Muslim countries, SodaHead.com reports.
